srry... neither of ur links worked.
Neither links produced what you described, As a Leo I would suggest:

Leo power colors are Gold, Orange, Yellow, Tan, Red, and deep tones of various hues.

The Sun (Orange), is the fifth point of light of the zodiac. The center of the chart and the power source of the light, it is best represented by the vibrant oranges and gold that one thinks of when considering it's ruler, the sign of Leo. The courageous use of these colors is bold and invigorating and creates a statement that cannot be ignored, just as a Leo cannot be ignored. The tawny strains of amber and rich golden tans also reflect the colors of this planet. When physical energy is out of balance, any of the colors associated with the sun can help to invigorate one. The wearing of the gemstone amber can help one capture some of this energy also.
Go with a nice off white. Always works.

I'll have to agree with the second answer both of your sites suck... They don't work re-do!!!!!

Maybe a crisp steele gray, or a deep brick red, or a nice warm taupe. If you go with a neutral, keep in mind you will have to balance out the mild colors with a warm tone or a bold tone say using accessories. You can go to a furniture store and usually ask for advice from one of their interior decorators, you should probably bring a sample of your dinner ware with you to show the color.Have caramel colored Dining Set. I love the idea of doing stripes on the wall - 12'; wide each...one would be a light olive and the other a medium olive...that would look AMAZING with your caramel-colored set!!! You could even up the contrast by painting your moulding/trim in a super dark olive or chocolate brown.

Something like this picture..but with shades of olive...

    Good luck!
I think you need something bold like olive green or chocolate brown. Perhaps a burnt orange. I would stay away from pastels or neutrals.
You could paint the room a blue color to make the color of the wood pop. Good luck!
White is very modern and clean. You can add colour with your furnishings etc.

    It depends. When it comes to other people, yes. If I see a fat ugly guy I'll think ';DAMN, he's ugly!';

But when it comes to myself, I really don't care about my apearence. I honestly don't care if people think ';Wow, she's hideous'; when they see me.
Somewhat. I don't really care how they look. But good looking prefered. :] If they're like so ugly, that I can't even look at them......then that's different. Personality actually matters so much more. Sometimes, when I say someone is cute, that might mean their personality.
Most girls are. They don't care to admit it though. But in the end all girls realize they're shallow and they fix it and tend to go for the sweeter guys like me.(:
IDK, I've been told by people that I am, and others that I'm not. Personally, I don't think I am because the ppl who told me I never thought of anyone but myself wanted something out of me T.T

    Hi,

You can go around the eye with the ';free hand selection'; and then adjustment, then Hue Saturation and pick the color you want.

One thing I do is look for contacts that are colored and I copy it and then use it in PSP X2.

    I hope this helps?

Off white or buttery yellow...if you want to theme the room with apples there will be lots of great colour, so keeping the walls neutral will be a great background for your apples. What color should i paint my kitchen if?
I agree that a light shade of green would look nice with some red accents in the way of apple decor, curtains, chair pads, etc.

A nice shade of green would be Olympics Weeping Willow for instance.

A very creamy pale yellow would also look nice.
I would paint the walls apple green with ivory trim and accent the room with red apples on curtains, towels, canisters, etc.
my sister is a interior designer and she said you can paint one wall red or orange and the other walls a sandy color

red goes well with inox appliances
Depends on what colors/neutrals you already have..

For red alpples, green leaves - nice contrasts are:

    white, off-white, ivory

    banana or light lemon yellow

    very pale green

    powder or sky blue
    Sage green

    Pastel yellow

    Soft burnt orange

    Light gray

    Red

    White,with a hint of pink

any of those would work well...

The colors I would avoid are tan / beige, blue, or purple...
Sage green and white would look nice.

What color should I paint my nails? ?

    I have tons of colors?

what colors are hot and/or attractive? What color should I paint my nails? ?
I like colors that match with every outfit, because I don't like constantly changing the color, and I don't like my nails and clothes to be mismatched. So I get pinks, browns, reddish browns, tan, cream, and my fave is a french manicure style, which I have now! It's beautiful, elegant, and goes with any style. But I don't go to a salon. Just go to a pharmacy, and they sell sets of white and clear or white and light pink nail polishes, and they come with guide stickers to help you do it yourself. It's super easy! What color should I paint my nails? ?
I would narrow it down to the color that you'll most likely wear. I would start with taking out nail polish that you don't like.

Then, choose the colors that you do like.

Next, choose the colors you're actually likely to wear.

After that, choose nail polish that isn't old and gross.

Finally, look at your few that are left, and decide on your selection based on what you might wear in the next few days, where you're going, etc.
hot pink it is awesome or whatever matches you outfit

Blue is a very calming color in a child's room. His furniture is royal blue and he wants blue walls? So go for a soft blue on the walls. Make the trim white. Add white accessories (lamp, curtains, etc.)

Your child will do good in a blue room. It's also the color preferred by most guys and it is relaxing on the mood.

So go for it... it's only paint (which is the least expensive way to change a room). I say go for the blue... it is after all, his room :)

Check out the link above. It is a picture of another bedding collection with a sports theme and blue walls. Ralph Lauren paints make some beautiful blues for boys rooms. Don't be afraid to mix the blues. There are other great shades of lighter blues without making it look like a nursery. A great way to try a color is to buy a quart and paint a large piece of white paper and tape it to the wall behind a piece of the blue furniture. I don't recommend painting swatches directly on the wall, it can sometimes be hard to cover over. You can get rolls of white paper at an office supply store. It's a lot easier to replace a quart of paint than to repaint an entire room! Good luck.
yellow it will contrast with the furniture and green quilt cover as this combination of primary colours and secondary colours, yellow and blue make green

when re-decorating home, bedroom or any other room, always try to choose colors according to feng shui. in this case you will activate powers of 5 elements (water, earth, metal, wood and fire) and support all your lucky ';areas'; - this will attract love, romance, wealth, money, prosperity, luck etc etc

Some attribute the development to Peter Max who used them extensively in his 60s hippie art posters.
Theoretically you can make any colour in existence with red, green and blue.
Yes there are some colours:Blue, green and yellow.I think it is but i m not sure...

What color should i paint my kitchen?

my kitchen is definitely on the larger side, the cabinets are wood and they are stained a dark brown, the washer and the dryer are also in the kitchen. the kitchen right now is kind of like and antique white the flooring is linoleum a white and beige pattern. i was thinking of painting it a pure white to brighten it up and that way i can change the colors of the place mats and center pieces whenever i feel like it and not have to worry if they clash with the wallsWhat color should i paint my kitchen?
play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family %26amp; color name, the ';painted'; rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

    http://www.sherwin.com/visualizer/

I wouldn't paint it a pure white b/c it shows dirt easily %26amp; I think it looks blah. I think a pale gray like ';useful gray'; (# 7050) might look terrific. You could still use swap out colors without fear of clashing.

You can also take a photo of your house %26amp; upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

    http://www.roomvues.com/

You can get color suggestions %26amp; they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like. What color should i paint my kitchen?
Bright white in a large kitchen could make it feel very institutional.

I would try to pick up some tones from the wood. You said your cabinets were dark wood, are they reddish like a cherry stain? Or are they dark amber, like an antiqued oak? Find that underlying tint and look into paints that carry it.

You could also try to match/ complement the appliances.

Towels and place mats will take their cues from other dressings like curtains and table cloths, not from the walls.

Sage green and lilac purple are becoming popular, as they bring some character, don't darken the space, and match well with many color schemes.

I've also been seeing variations on southwestern terra-cotta (orangish) and adobe (pale yellow) in kitchens recently.

I have to agree that white may make it seem too ';industrial';, and cause a lot more contrast than necessary. What I would do (and this is just me), is pick a tone of beige from the flooring that you like. Maybe even a shade or two lighter than what you pick. This way you are still getting that bright and open feeling you want, but without so much contrast with the cabinets. As someone else said, beige is a nice neutral color as well, and it also does not carry the same ';cold'; feeling as white does.

Try going and getting a few swatches of the color you're looking into and take them home to compare next to your cabinets. Maybe even buy a few very small cans of the colors you want to try, and paint a few small areas to see how you like them.

Beige is not only a good neutral, and less cold looking, but it still brings in the clean feeling to the kitchen, which is nice.

Whatever you decide to do, I'm sure it will look great! :)
what color are the counters? if they are a lighter color, light beige, cream or white maybe you could paint it a light beige color. i saw a kitchen like that on hgtv and it was really nice. mos colors for your place mats and center pieces would go with the beige. here's the color i had in mind: go to valspar.com and look for the color called ';Milestone';. any color appliances should work.

or if your counters are darker, like deep brown, or black, you could go with (on valspar.com) ';La Fonda Mindoro';? i don't know if that'll be too dark though. maybe even a sunny yellow or lime green would work. maybe red?

I would paint it a butter yellow and pick a accent wall with a green sage wall. It will give it a whole new life. Yellow and green is easy to find if you want to match them up with placemats and center pieces. White is boring live a little.
    here are some ideas

    http://www.materials-world.com/paint-col鈥?/a>

(personally i might want to try 1432 but that's just me)
Yellow is a good color for a Kitchen. Makes the wood cabinets warmer.
white would work good. yellow would too =D
Think about the overall look you want to achieve in your kitchen. You mentioned versatility ~ you want to be able to change the color scheme of the kitchen accessories. You don't have to use white to accomplish that, nor do you have to use white to ';brighten'; up the space.

Consider the visual 'weight' of your cabinetry. If it's dark, it's visually heavy. Having white walls will give you a stark contrast; with a white/beige floor, there's even more contrast in the space. That's neither 'right' nor 'wrong.' Some people like it and some don't.

You said it's a large space, so I don't believe you can make it feel too closed in, no matter what color you paint it. I, personally, like darker, warmer colors on kitchen walls because (1) there isn't a lot of wall to begin with (so it's never too dark); (2) it warms the space and makes it feel more inviting (and less sterile).

What if you painted the walls the same beige that's the pattern on the floor? Beige is still a neutral color, so you wouldn't have any problem changing colored accessories in the space.

Get some paint swatches from Home Depot or Lowes and 'test drive' them on the walls. (I use the blue painters tape or making tape to adhere swatches to the walls). Live with them for a week ... move them around ... check out the colors under various lighting conditions. You'll soon be able to start ruling out what you DON'T like. Eventually, you'll be left with one or two colors that you love. You can't go wrong from there.

Scion tc 06. I'm thinking of painting my car over. The original paint is Classic Silver. What color is good?

Do a silver and black two tone.... it would look awesome. Do black on the botton with either a pinstripe or tear pattern to seperate the silver and black.... my opinion the smooth strip divider would be better cause it would add to the smoothness of the car itself. silver on top, and limo window tint. If you mean one solid color, try a high gloss jet black with the limo tint.Scion tc 06. I'm thinking of painting my car over. The original paint is Classic Silver. What color is good?
The best thing you can do is go with the original color it saves a lot of hastle and will be cheaper for you.Scion tc 06. I'm thinking of painting my car over. The original paint is Classic Silver. What color is good?
One you like alot since you will devaluate car at least 2500.00.
i dont think repainting is a good idea, but if you decide to a black or white would be cool.
You'll really lose a lot of value by painting the car another color, and it also will be very expensive to change it as well.

I have a WWI doughboy helmet painted black. It has a WWI liner made by AJ Bates Co of Webster Mass and a date of Oct 1918. It has the number 9 painted on the bottom edge of the rim like most US helmets of WWI. It has saw dust mixed into the paint and the seller claims it is either dark brown or black camouflaged. • What paint color has calming and tranquil effects?

Hello, I'm looking to paint my 2 bedroom condo and was wondering what colors are best to instill tranquil relaxation moods? When I come home I want a feeling of tranquility and serenity. The room has to be a color of calming effects. I wana feel at ease and peaceful when I enter my home. I've heard that light blue and a green like the yahoo answers text and toolbars are good examples.

Is this true. can I feel more at ease and calm using light greens and blues?

THANK YOU MUCH, : )What paint color has calming and tranquil effects?
Yes those colors are calming, and also certain shades of pink. I would go for light turquoise-green color.

You can stay neutral and add color with art and accessories. Or you can gradually add complimentary color or go a shade darker with every room. Use the walls as your guide where to begin and where to stop, like your corners. Change paint color where the wall begins for each room. Good luck!

What paint color matches smoke stains?

I know that's a weird question, but the people who used to live in our house smoked. We have lived here for almost 4 years now and don't plan on moving anytime soon. I asked the landlord last month if I could paint, with me doing the painting and paying for the supplies, and she told me no! I can't stand these walls and ceilings any more! But I can't use bright white paint because then she will know that I painted. So does anyone know a color that's close to tar stained white? What paint color matches smoke stains?
Dingy #4.What paint color matches smoke stains?
If you are not painting the home/apartment a color, and just going to use white, there should be no reason that the landlord won't let you paint. It is an improvement for him with no out of pocket cost. I would pitch it to him that way. If not, call an attorney, he may not be able to keep you from painting it. When I lived in my apartment, I could have painted it a plaid if I wanted, it just had to be back to the original white before I left.
I am a smoker. I recently moved. When I took the pictures off of the walls the walls were white behing them but everything else was dingy brown. I was embarassed. You need to paint with two coats. It is in the best interest of the landlord to have you or he/she to have it done. If the landlord is the owner you are just own your own but if the landlord is just the Manager go over his/her head.
Try ';classic ivory'; (# 0051) by Sherwin Williams.

    Which paint color...?

I am moving into a place that has a living room and a little dining area attached. My living room furniture color is similar to this:

    http://furniturefromhome.com/products/Qu鈥?/a>

Mine is supposed to be brick red, so it looks just slightly dark.

My kitchen table has yellowish brown wood with a crazy marble countertop with blues, grays, and veined with the same yellowish brown color. Kinda like this if you can imagine grayish-blue spots (which look like fossils):

    http://www.graniteland.com/stone/brownis鈥?/a>

I'm a geologist and I've still yet to ID the type of marble (Any ideas on that as well?).

Anyway, the original dining area wall is already red. You can see pictures here of the dining room and living room:

I would leave the dining room walls as is. I think that's a great color. I think I would go with an olive green in the living room - like ';willow tree'; by sherwin williams:

    http://sherlink.sherwin.com/swapp/color_鈥?/a>

    If you're looking to paint the kitchen, what would think of a neutral like ';prairie grass?';
    Mocha
i would do a choclate brown with the red and the marble it would look real good with brown accent pillows on your sofa.and red curtains.
I think you need to get rid of the red (too much red with the couch, for one room), paint the walls an off white color. Maybe do the red wall, a black, or brown, to off set it.

What paint color to go with Brown chocolate furniture in a small apartment?

Hi. I need your help. I am moving out from my tiny studio to a small one bedroom apartment, same building. While all the units are painted off white, I would like to add some color and life to the wall. I did a lot of research and had wonderful ideas but I guess because the landlord is paying and doing the work, I don't want to push it ask too much by having different colors in every room. So I need your help to define a color that could go in every room. Keep in mind that the rooms are quite small. My living room furniture are a very dark brown. I am thinking a nacre white to make the living room look bigger with maybe a wall or two color taupe. But what type of taupe? Then I would accessorize with maybe green cushions and vases or frames etc...( spring meadow green type of color from B.Moore but for objects). As for the bedroom I wanted to accessorize with a lila color or a dark purple. Should I keep the bedroom white nacre or can I add a Taupe wall? Furniture is dark wood.Thank you! What paint color to go with Brown chocolate furniture in a small apartment?
As an interior decorator, I like your idea of taupe, but make it more like a ';weak glass of chocolate milk color'; then, as you said you liked the green for accent items, why not do am accent wall in that color in that room. ANYONE can paint a single wall easily and inexpensively, so you could do that after the landlord has his crew do the basic color. Since it's a small space I'd also suggest a lot of pillows for that chocolate couch using that green accent color and if possible, some more multi-colored ones that have just a bit of that accent color mixed with others. Sometimes people think too many pillows in a small studio is a NO. I don't agree. If it's small, you want it to look INTENTIONALLY cozy, as if that was the look you were going for. A lot of colorful pillows will not only brighten but look very inviting and cozy. Same light chocolate wall color in the bedroom but then add your lilac accent wall and some pillows. To pull it ALL together, it may take some searching, but try to find accent pillows for BOTH rooms that each have one common color, at least in a band of color or in the actual print. That way, everything flows but you still have your color. Have fun no matter what you decide! What paint color to go with Brown chocolate furniture in a small apartment?
W/O me knowing exact couch color, try this- Match a BM paint chip/ card to your couch color as closely as possible, then go several shades lighter on same card for wall color. If couch say, BM 2096-10, try walls of 2096-40 or 50, depending upon natural light available.

I would paint the walls a light blue. There are several blue and brown combinations in the interior decorating world. I've seen it in comforters and in pictures and it looks great. You can go to hgtv.com and look at some finished products.
Brown is a neutral colour so everything goes well with it , I like the Robin egg colour with brown and Ivory not white, keep it warm!
I would use teal blue or teal green to offset the dark furniture, It would look fantastic.
    maybe a tan color

  • Would rolling up an older water color painting damage it?

I'd like to ship a 30 yr old large water color painting in a tube- is it safe to roll a painting such as this? Any answers/suggestions appreciated.Would rolling up an older water color painting damage it?
well.. it mainly depends on the quality of the paper/painting. If you think it wouldn't be damaged then go ahead, but if you are slightly worried then you should place it somewhere safe, to prevent any damage.

thamizhanWould rolling up an older water color painting damage it?
I have sent probably over 50 watercolors around the world and I have always sent them in a strong tube. I have never damaged one. Your paper has a way that it will role more easily this is based on the way the fiber is lined up. Role your paper with another thin paper. My guide has been to never have a tube smaller than 4 inches in diameter...the tube needs to be two or more inches longer than the rolled watercolor. I usually get my over sized tubes at the hardware store by buying thin PVC used in plumbing. Seal the ends and then seal them again. Thought you might like this other option.
Watercolor paper generally doesn't like to be rolled up. Ship it flat. There isn't a way to determine the weight of the paper unless you are a watercolor painter but if the paper is 300 lb. the chances of making a crease while trying to roll it, is too great to take a chance.
dont roll it - ship it in a flat box protected from the elements. or, personally deliver it - if you can!
Do NOT roll it! Are you crazy? Go visit your local art framing supply store and they will help you!

Is it possible to walk into a nail salon, and ask them to paint your nails the color that you bring in?

The nail salon that I sometimes go to does a REALLY good job at doing nails but the colors that they have are kinda weird looking.. lol

So.. I was wondering if I can bring in a color that I like and ask them to paint it for me. Would it cost extra?

    thanks a lot!

^_^Is it possible to walk into a nail salon, and ask them to paint your nails the color that you bring in?
i get my nails done too and i totaly know what you mean.

Some salons don't allow it but some do. Just ask your salon. Some charge extra and some don't. They honeslty shouldn't charge you extra since they are using your product and not theirs, but they might charge you for the ';labor';. it all depends on the salon. If your a regular customer, sweet talk them into doing it and suggest them on getting that color for a ';prefered customer';. They are usually all about customers! Is it possible to walk into a nail salon, and ask them to paint your nails the color that you bring in?
It depends on the salon, so you should call ahead and ask the salon. I've gone to more expensive salons, and they usually refuse to use anything that you bring in simply because they don't want to be held responsible if you get an infection and try to sue them. However, most cheaper salons are fine with using whatever you bring in.

    Hope that helps!
yes of course you can. As long as it's goodish quality paint that they will be able to achieve a good result from. If its cheap nail polish that won't go on nicely even when a profession doing it don't bring it in. But if you no they will be able to use it then bring it in. It won't cost you any extra either!
Hmm I find nail salon owners are usually pretty easy to piss off.. you might have to deal with them talking about you in a language that you don't understand like I usually am when I ask for something specific that they don't usually do..

BUT it's worth a shot, what's the worst that could happen? ;)
Well, it all depends which nail salon, but i think that it would be fine, and you would~'t (and shouldn't) have to pay extra. if you do though, make sure its a reasonable price to pay, because you or a friend could always do your nails, for free. :) i really hope this helped.
they may charge u a small fee...but it probably won't be big enough to be like a deal breaker! chances are though that they'll have something similar to the color you were going to bring anyway

My mother has her own manicure utensils she takes with her everytime. She does this for hygenic reasons.
I don't think that it would cost you anything extra. I would certainly recommend that you take your own polish. One reason being that it is more sanitary and you will know how good the quality of the polish is.
You might want to bring in a few bottles of the color in case they don't have it, but they may have it, and charge you a little extra.
ya i do that all the time i bring in the color i want and they just paint it for me it usually costs the same as normal though

The color you will see on your computer screen will not be a true representation of the color as it will appear on your car. You would only get a very general idea. Your monitor, brightness etc. make it impossible to view colors as they really are. Order paint swatches from an auto paint supplier for a better idea. Even these are printed not painted but are better than computer images.

Google 'auto paint swatches' or contact an auto refinish supplier you know of to post you swatches or chips.Car paint color palettes online?
Ask around at paint shops about what ever color you want. Usually paint shops are pretty good about being able to put together colors. It'd help a lot if you see a car with the color you like and could tell them you want the green used on the 06 Chevy or Alpha TT600.

You won't find colors on line, as what you see on your monitor isn't necessarily what the color really looks like. They don't even look the same from one monitor to another.

    Good luck.

Help! paint color choice help desperately needed!!!?

I moved into a 30 yr old house, can not afford new counter tops at this time. Here are the colors I'm working with...yellow laminate counter tops on counters, bar and back splash and dark wood cabinets. I have 2 half walls with wainscoting below, wainscoting is painted cream. The kitchen only has one window and does not receive much light. I prefer lighter colors as opposed to darker hues.

Anyone??? Anything??? (what I really need is to win the lottery or at least a kitchen makeover!!!) Thank you :)Help! paint color choice help desperately needed!!!?
HAHAHAHA, I want to win the lotto too! But, There are a lot of way you can really spruce your options up. You say you have a yellow laminate counter? Try making that more elegant with some accessories (like bell peppers in a jar - buy at target or something, and some fake plants for depth on top of the kitchen cabinets if you have space!!!) for a wall color, do something rustic... maybe a bronzed/burnt orange color, or a terracotta red... nothing too bold or bright but more rustic. Add some gold accessories like gold framed wine bottle pics, modern or vintage kitchen pictures - im telling you, walmart and kmart have some amazing paintings/prints for a really GREAT price. No need to spend tons of money on great pictures. I bought a whole bunch of new frames and pics at kmart for less than 100$ total (decorated my entire kitchen and guest room - - ) amazing! I also used this handy little tool thingy I found: its a virtual room designer and it helped me find colros that would go with my kitchen. actually design your entire room online for free... kitchen bedroom bathroom etc. very fun to use and free!

I sure hope this helps a bit! try complimenting the yellow countertops with a themed color scheme - bold? rustic? modern? bright? flirty? girly? etc. !!!

I also image searched on google and found some great ideas from pictures there too!Help! paint color choice help desperately needed!!!?
Since everything is plain color you could choose a nice yellow print wallpaper. That would draw it all together and take the plain look away.

    Nursery paint color ideas?

Me and my husband are currently staying at my mothers to save a little extra money to get into our first house when our first child is born. The room we are staying in needs to be painted, so we are choosing a color for the baby because after we move out it will be ';her room'; at my mother's.

We are trying to stay away from pink and purple (my husband can't believe how much stuff we've gotten so far is pink! lol) and since we still have to live in this room for at least five more months we don't want to paint it something like a bright yellow that will give us a headache.

Any ideas that are still a little girly but not over powering? :)Nursery paint color ideas?
how about a soft sage green? then accent with pink. or a nice soft lime green. found a cute bedding with frogs and princesses and castels on babies r us before--that would be cute. it had all colors in the bedding--pink,lime green, lavender, yellow.Nursery paint color ideas?
You can paint the room sage...that would be good for you as well as her--but might be a bit mature...

Or you could do any color you would like and just add a child-themed wallpaper border and base the color on that...

You could do lavender--not exactly purple--

    Good Luck
I think you should do a baby green color. To make it fun...you can paint on some little pink and purple flowers!! That'd be cute!
    Sage green.

What paint color for my dining room?

My dining room has bright royal blue carpeting. A dark wood ceiling and darker trim. One wall has a red brick fireplace that spans the whole wall (no paint on that wall). Another wall has a 12 ft.bay window with three cut out type windows on top (forgot to mention that the dining room ceiling is slanted and goes up to a cathedral height on one end.) The opposite wall of the fireplace has a glass sliding door and the wall opposite of the bay window is a big opening into the kitchen. So there really isn't a lot of ';wall'; to paint but I need something to compliment the room but not make the carpeting look obnoxious. I would like something beautiful but cozy. I also need ideas on the window treatments. I prefer valances/swags but need ideas of colors / patternsWhat paint color for my dining room?
Paint it the same color as your kitchen.

A fabric cornice across the bay window.

I would go with a lighter blue wall with white trim and white window treatments, I think it would look nice.

What paint color should I use for this style?

I wanted to go with a bold rusty orange colorwash, a red, or a copper glow, all of which are deep colors. But it is an apartment, and though the landlord says that I can paint, I would have to paint it back to the original color when we moved out. I'm not sure how time consuming/expensive that would be to prime the dark colors, so I'm trying to find out if I can find an alternative. I'm going for an old-world feel, so it would feel like you were in Spain... any color that is easy to paint over that would fit that style? What paint color should I use for this style?
You could do a ragging technique to give the walls some depth of color. Use sherwin willimas' ';bosc pear'; over top a ';harvester'; basecoat. You can see what it looks like by clicking on the color visualizer link from this page:

    http://www.sherwin-williams.com/do_it_yo鈥?/a>

Click on ';find color'; and then you'll see a set of tabs on the left side. Click on ';faux finishes.'; It's the third row down, second one over.

Here are step-by-step guides on how to do ragging:

It will mos def give you the old world look you want, and the colors are light enough that you should be able to paint over it later without too much effort. What paint color should I use for this style?
I would suggest a straight paint color in mustard, moss green or barn red. Neither of these paints colors suggested are dark tone and can be easily covered in usually 2 coats. Easy to prime over. One coat then a neutral color when you move out.

I am doing a movie room with movie posters and movie quotes on the walls. So what color do i paint my room?

gold and black, with red and purple accents

http://mariesmanordecorating.com/hollywo鈥?/a>I am doing a movie room with movie posters and movie quotes on the walls. So what color do i paint my room?
I agree that the walls should be a dark color- such as red or forest green.I am doing a movie room with movie posters and movie quotes on the walls. So what color do i paint my room?
I would go with a flat black or dull colors. If you go with bright colors or gloss/semi gloss, the reflections from the TV will make it too bright and distract you from the show.
If you have already collected the posters, look for a similar color in all of them. If not you may want to do a search of the movies you want to use and find the color palate.

Red is a common color in posters.

Have fun and good luck, I am very envious.
I would say go with black paint on the walls. It will add to the ';movie theater'; ambiance.
My son did a movie room in his house. He painted the walls black. If you are going to frame your posters, get frames that too big for them and put a colored (your choice of colors) edging around the posters. Get some pillows the color of the edging. Very pretty.
I suggest red... much of the movie posters will have black backgrounds... they will look really nice against a red wall.
i would think stay with a neutal color like off white or beige and let the posters do the talking
Red is always a good background color for prints and posters.
Are you going to be actually watching movies in the room? Black is definitely the way to go if you are. If not, then choose a deep bright color that will pop between the posters and quotes.
Gold! Show off those posters with an Oscar colour. :-)

The palest colour possible. You will get depressed if you have dark coloured walls with dark coloured furniture.
try the 'in' colors right now like the historic colors. I just painted a room Nantucket fog - fancy for grey and it turned out awesome.
If you are looking for a brighter color, I'd say coral.

You need an earthy color, nothing like yellow or pink or blue.
i would try a tope or a brown or a green that would look nice with ur maroon furniture and it wouldnt look bad with the blue carpet

Bright metallic red like mine. ^_^

The last time mine were bright metallic blue with a rainbow glittery coating over it.

I've done them like Rosii J before in black with silver tips. I've also done them in black with metallic purple tips. I'm kinda a goth chick so it works for me.

Golds, browns, with red or orange is trendy right now, and since it is almost fall, very seasonal.

Spa colors, like a light blue with brown are in, so is an almost khaki greenAnyone give me some ideas on painting my rooms and what colors u might choose?
what rooms?? and what else is in the room?? IM me and Ill help you out!!!Anyone give me some ideas on painting my rooms and what colors u might choose?
a nice cream colour as it is a relaxing colour.
Since I don't have to live there and you do you should choose the color(s) that you like best. If you're stumped look in your closet, at your bedspread, or go to the fabric store and find a print that you just love and pull the colors from there.
Something fun to do is to to paint your room a really bright color and then feather dust it with a lighter color. That's what I did to mine.

Another fun thing would be is to paint your room a solid color and keep pints of different colors of paint and whenever you feel inspired you could paint something on your walls. When you get tired of it you can paint over it.
    a green tea color-relaxing,or orange-tropical,
What style do you like? I would love to help you choose, but without knowing your style my skills are useless.

But if you have no defined style, go nuetral. Beige, soft golds, or sage greens.

    good luck.

I have CherryWood floors in my living room. What color should I paint my walls.?

There is also very little natural light. I'm so afraid of making the room look like a cave!I have CherryWood floors in my living room. What color should I paint my walls.?
Sand color is the new beige, its contemporary and looks stunning with a shade of mahogany/cherry.I have CherryWood floors in my living room. What color should I paint my walls.?
Wood flooring always adds a earthy feel to your home. If you don't want to go neutral, I suggest a creamy yellow, or light green. Stay in with the earth tones. You could also do a blue.. either light or a smokey blue. Not sky blue. Cherry wood as a pinkish tent to it so If you wanted to tie it up together, you could do a lovely peachish color. That would look gorgeous! I would keep the trim and molding white, along with the doors. Don't make your paint color depend on your flooring. Look at your personality, your furniture, your hobbies, and your favorite pieces of Art for ideas! You can always tie in the flooring with decor and a rug! I hope this helps!
With the floor color you probably want to stay with more neutral colors. Beige, cream, tan, something along those lines. Since you have little natural light, you might want to accessorize with some mirrors, lighting and a few pops of color around the room. This will give it a coziness. You could also place a lighter, wall coordinating room size rug in place to break up the dark space. Something with a subtle pattern or weave.

    Good luck.
WOW BIEGE oh Biege and oh Biege?

Well WHAT color are your sofa's, what color do you like? Ok now see the colors in this rug if you like for example the gold or the green then that is how to choose what color also what is the most same color in your house like if you have alot of blue, green etc maybe try that I find that the furniture and your favorite colors can be put on walls even if it is RED. Just bring it out of that cave feeling with like the other colors in those rugs.

    Now go create !
I have dark wood floors throughout my house and worry about the same thing. For most of the house, I use a warm cozy beige. Then I painted accent walls in key areas. The most important things I did, would be to keep the baseboards, trim, crown molding and ceilings an offwhite to keep things traditional and lighten up the rooms.

    I hope that helps!
    a light anything green,yellow,blue,peach
You can do just simple white, or beige, cream or tan
White or black would do! :)
I'd go with a light, creamy butter shade...not too yellow, but not beige either.

You could use your selection tool, click around the image you want to change the colour of, using point to point. Selections - Invert, Then using your Hue and Saturation, change to the colour desried.
In your materials box, select the color you want to change to. Remember or write down your Hue and Saturation numbers~~click the box with the color you want~~it will show H, S. Then click on adjust, go down to Hue and Saturation and pick colorize. Put your H and S numbers in there and then see if you like the color. It has a display window, so you can play around with the numbers if needed. If you only want to color parts of a picture, use your freehand tool to select the parts you want to change. Hope this helps you!

Take something in that has that color on it. They can match it with the computer.
I agree with dodgeman except I have never seen a little thing pressed on the paint. Where I do business a chip of paint is required and they put it in the computerized machine which then will print them out a formula for that particular color. It generally is pretty darn close if not exact! The problem you run into is fading and its very difficult to do just touch up on an older paint job.
take it to a paint store that has the computer system that they can use a small gun on it and it will match it up ,they take and press the small unit on the paint and then plug it in to a computer and it will tell what color it is, and give the mixture for mixing more like it,i have had to use this method a few times ,but its the best way to match the paint up,good luck i hope this help,s.

Can you use engine paint to color light bulbs?

Yes, you can. Watch how you spray it though. Real light coats will prevent runs and drips. The number of coats depends on how bright you want the light to be.Can you use engine paint to color light bulbs?
Are you talking about automobile lamps? What colors do you have in mind? There are high temperature (4000 degrees) engine paints available at auto parts store in limitted colors but I believe they will peel off when applied on a very smooth surface like a light bulb. In any case I would not recommend using engine paint on auto lamps. Can you use engine paint to color light bulbs?
If you want to, but they won't work any more if you do. Orange and green lamps are specially made to work with specialized colorings or covers that let the light through. Paint will block all of the light.
I would think not. Engine paint would be too thick for the light to shine through. Why wouldn't you just go to the parts store and buy them in colored glass.
Why not? the worse thing that could happen (ok,2 things) you waste a lite bulb trying and it might smoke. Keep an eye on it so it doesn't ignite anything
i would like not ... but thats just common sense

I think it's baby blue maybe with a hint of black in it to make a more flamboyant color

If ur painting a room with three walls of the same color and one darker wall which one do you paint first?

It really doesn't matter. Of course, if you are really clutzy, I would suggest painting the dark wall first, in case you splatter a lot of paint, the lighter color would be easier to cover on the dark wall. The trick is to use a good 2 1/2 '; cutting brush, it will have bristles cut on a 45 degree angle to cut your corners with. Let the brush do the work, and cut about a 2'; swath out from the corner into your dark wall. Tape if you must, but remember when you pull the tape off, pull it at an angle, toward the wall you just painted so it will keep any paint from running on to the adjacent wall.If ur painting a room with three walls of the same color and one darker wall which one do you paint first?
Do the lighter ones first-the darker will cover any over spray/brushing. HELLO? A DARKER COLOR DOES NOT COVER EASIER WITH A LIGHTER PAINT, period, end of storyIf ur painting a room with three walls of the same color and one darker wall which one do you paint first?
I did the darker one first when I did it in my house. 3 walls are tan. One wall is RED.Use that blue tape...it will look great!

What color paint with autumn red carpet for a bathroom?

play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family %26amp; color name, the ';painted'; rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think an aqua like ';waterfall'; (# 6750) might be a great choice.

You can take a photo of your house %26amp; upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions %26amp; for $5 they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like. What color paint with autumn red carpet for a bathroom?

What color paint with autumn red carpet for a bathroom?
If you would like some rich tones, try a gold color, not yellow, but a rich gold color, then bring in some rich brown colors like your bath mat to step out of the shower on. Some really deep gold towels with an overlay of brown. It will look very classy. your accessories, such as your toothpaste holder, soap dispenser, towel racks, tissue holder, and your trash-can would look nice in a rich bronze color. Make sure your shower curtain has your gold and brown colors in it, maybe even a bit of your red color to pull it all together. A stripe would look very nice. Don't forget a nice picture or two for the bathroom. Make sure you have some candles on hand for those soaks in the tub, or that special bath with someone. Have fun with it. Hope this helps.
I would go with a warm beige.. one that has a golden undertone (stay away from red undertones with red carpet - won't look good).

Then you can accessorize with dark bronze or antique brass accents, get towels the same color as the carpet and a few dark wood accents (like frame around the bathroom mirror, picture frame, waste basket, cabinets etc.)

My mom has this setup in her bathroom - looks very cozy and classy.
You have a few choices. You could paint a sandy tan, brown or a buttery yellow. A shade of taupe, mushroom or gray would work too. If this bathroom uses a shower curtain, find that first then choose a color from it to paint.

Ultra modern would call for a mixture of gloss black and white. Contemporary colors like maroon or tan also go well with red.
I would use a mocha brown - Not chocolate brown - maybe like the color of peanut butter. My friend has it in her bathroom and it looks AWESOME !!
a cool beige (cool as in not warm, not cool as in awesome)
cream or beige, they go good with red =]=]
    off white or beige

We want to paint our kitchen but need advice on what color?

Our cabinets are burgundy our floor and tile is white..pls helpWe want to paint our kitchen but need advice on what color?
a light golden sand color would be great and very harmonious. for a little bolder look you could go with a light terra-cotta. or for a contrasting look go with a light grey.We want to paint our kitchen but need advice on what color?
A nice ivory? I saw this in a model home same color cabinets. looked very nice. Hope this helps. I am in the same boat but have sage counter tops, black appliances, and oak cabinets.
something in the beige or wheat family would compliment

    Be Blessed!
Bone, Cream, Beige, or dark gold would look good.

    Martha Stewarts...

    Light CoCoa

    Lunaria

    Magnolia

    Corn Silk

Best paint I have ever used..I paint a lot...Good Luck!
Have you considered wallpaper? I think that's the direction I'd go. Find something perfect to blend the burgundy cabinets with the white of the floor and tile.

Another option might be sponge-painting (this hides spashes and fingerprints SO well, great for a kitchen!) If you choose that, you could do the base coat white... then sponge burgundy and one other color you wanted to use as an accent.

At the very least, if you choose to go all white, consider a border trim for along the ceiling that would pull the white and burgundy together. Something like wine bottles with grape clusters and vines twisting among them would be beautiful...
a cream or a foresty green that's not too dark would be really pretty. there are some different techniques that you can use to paint so it comes out looking like different textures! my sister did this and it came out really cool. usually home improvement stores like home depot have different books and tools that you can use
I think a khaki color would look nice. Sounds beautiful.
    White. It's perfect.
White tiles, burgundy cabinets, I'd do an eggshell-like wall.
I agree with green. However, I would pick the lightest, most subtle shade possible.

    Best wishes!
i would suggest lime green or hott pink cause they r very bright and funn colors!!!!

Do you think its sexy to paint your toenails? What color is sexiest?

    bright pink or orange

    or a really dark purple/red

    answer mine pleasee :)

http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/ind鈥?/a>Do you think its sexy to paint your toenails? What color is sexiest?
During the summer paint your nails a nice coral color, it's complementary to all skin types. During the winter try a nice deep berry, Again, it's complementary to all skin types. Do you think its sexy to paint your toenails? What color is sexiest?
Its not a matter of the ';color'; that makes toenails sexy. Its that she takes care of herself and thats sexy. A groomed look always looks nice.

I personally like classic colors. French tips, red, light nude pinks.
Yes I think a good pedicure can make anyone's feet look much nicer. I prefer pinks, reds, or bright colors. I HIGHLY suggest staying far away from dark colors (Dark blue, dark purple or black) on your toes and also avoid greens. Those colors tend to make your toenails look moldy... gross! :)
bright colors in the spring and summer (red, cotton candy pink, coral) have fun with it! Darker colors in the fall and winter (plum, red wine, etc. not black) I don't think blues look good tho.
I don't think anything can make a girls feet look sexy, but I think it looks much nicer than leaving the toenails without any polish!!! Red always looks awesome!
I think it depends on your age. If your pretty young pink looks great and I always say red is best. I do the whole red thing all the time. I'm 20 so any color is nice at this age.
really sexy.. i love black..looks so elegant..
I don't think painting toenails looks good but if you're going to paint them do white or black.
Yep. I like bright colors. Right now my wife has a very bright pinkish/purple... it's really sexy!

I paint them clear, so they shine but aren't like coloured.

I paint my fingernails any bright colour :)
Red is the most sexiest color.
    Yes. Red.
i like it when my GF does it when she has. . . i think its called ';french tips';??? but yeaa thats hot
