The safe answer would be a cream color. I like to be bold and would say a reddish- like burgundy or burnt brick color. Maybe even a lighter shade of greenWe are replacing our kitchen and we got dark green countertops what color should we paint the walls?
Wife and I had dark counter tops and didn't like them. Make a sandwich on a sample and you'll see why. They show everything, especially white bread crumbs! We are replacing our kitchen and we got dark green countertops what color should we paint the walls?
A Yellow to lighten things.
Why not try some wallpaper? There are some gorgeous selections out, and are very durable and easy to clean. You can find something with your green in it, and also has your flooring color, adjoining rooms color, etc. There are also many ';themed'; papers..like if you are into teapots, roosters, etc. I did mine in a burgandy (with some greens in it too) floral satin paper with a satin stripe of the same burgandy color of leaves thru it~not really for a kitchen~but it looks GREAT! It makes your kitchen more inviting and ';elegant';...especially if it opens up to another room like mine does. You can search a million patterns, by color, style, and room at decoratetoday.com
Good Luck!!
Pale peach / weathered sandstone paint over grasscloth paper looks incredible with dark green. For a French Country look, add pretty framed towels found on this website:

What about doing cream walls and then maybe a deep brown accent wall? My bedroom has brown/khaki walls with mahogany furnuture and a dark green duvet set. The colors go well together, at least in my opinion:)
soft pastel yellow or a cream/off white color
