Can you Prime a wall with a tint of the color in the primer and not paint it? My wall looks fine. ?

A room that I put one coat of paint and one coat of primer looks the same as the room with just one coat of primer. Does paint have necessary characteristics that I need on my wall? For example, if I only prime and don't paint will it leave fingerprints or come off with water or any other disadvantages? ThanksCan you Prime a wall with a tint of the color in the primer and not paint it? My wall looks fine. ?
Primer tends to discolor after time. While it may look good now, it won't last as long as a top coat of regular paint will. I would suggest painting over the primer to be safe and make sure your hard work has paid off in the end. Good luck. Can you Prime a wall with a tint of the color in the primer and not paint it? I'm sure you could do that if you wanted to. But... primer has a flat sheen so it isn't very attractive. It's made to ';grab'; paint, so it will be pretty good at doing the same with smudges as well. And you can't sponge clean it as easily as satin, eggshell, or semi-gloss.
Primer is ment to be tacky and help the paint stick. So while they may look the same, they won't wear the same...which will eventually start looking poor. Also, you can't clean primer the way you clean paint.
