Depending on the colors you presently have in your room and also depends on the colors you like. I.E. Furniture has red undertones and most of the decor is Orange, then you could paint your walls yellow. In my room I painted horizontal lines around the whole room and painted with 2 different hues of blue. As blue offers a calm and relaxing atmosphere plus I painted my other bedrooms blue I decided to stick to that and then I used a color in the orange family for my hallway. It turned out fantastic and have had offers to do other homes. If you really have issues picking a color get a color wheel.
