Spray paint... color with clear?

I was wonderng if iwanted to paint a metal object and end up with red, glossy. What kind of red should I use (flat, satin, gloss) and what clear coat? (Flat, satin, gloss)Spray paint... color with clear?
I've had good luck with Sherwin Williams Industrial enamel or good ol' rustoleum. I've top coated with polyurethane. Poly is good as a candy coat as long as you're covering a deeper color. It will turn lights and whites amber. Oh yeh.. don't forget to prime that metal object.Spray paint... color with clear?
i don't know to much about paints, but i recommend you first do primer, and then red semi gloss, after that clear glossy coat


but let it dry betwin each coat
