Sure, why not paint your toenails? Its your toes, if you want them to look nice, can't really blame you. Be forewarned though. Some people might give you a second look or stare, if you get a bright color. Maybe go for a light color or clear. Ultimately your choice though. I am also a straight guy who loves wearing toe rings. I think that it is ok if you paint your toe nails. I would choose a clear instead of some flashy color like red.

If you are OK with that, it is fine. Do you like a sort of natural light pinky-beige color? Stay with neutral, light shades and avoid the bright reds and neon colors.
