Hi every one . does any one knoe the ingredient they use to color paint ?? is it a dye ??

I am an Interior Painter in Massachusetts.





A dye is usually a liquid used to color some material or something.





Paint manufactures use pigment to color paint. A pigment is a fine powder solid added to a paint base in manufacturing.

It's called tint and comes in lots of different colors, usually a basic 12 colors that are mixed to create your colors...but they interact really complicated. All custom color paints start out white. Small amounts of color or colors of paint are then added to form the custom color that you choose off of the color cards.
