Can you paint the White House any color you want?

If you are President can you paint the White house? Is it against the law, or is it like an unwritten rule that it has to stay white? Can you paint the White House any color you want?
There isn't any law that says the White House must be painted white. It is a tradition. However, we have seen in the past that these traditions hold a great amount of importance. When FDR changed tradition by running for more than two terms, a Constitutional amendment was made to prevent it from happening again. Can you paint the White House any color you want?
That's downright UNAMERICAN.

So, Little Miss Canadian-traitor-Jihadist, if you painted the White House any other color than white, it would not be the White House any longer. It would be the Burnt Siena house, or the Desert Sunrise house, or the Robin's Egg Blue House, %26amp;etc.
The White House was not originally white. It was painted white to cover fire damage from the War of 1812. It has remained white by tradition.
Well when it was first made it was painted with pink paint because that was the cheapest thing they could get. But it was still called the white house.
It's a historic landmark and the exterior cannot be changed.
